Colour and texture translated into paintings and textiles inspired by nature. Spinning and rag rug demos. Come for a browse and a chat. Refreshments.
Painting is a second career for French-born Dominique, who studied Law in Paris, moved to the UK and worked in Information Services for over twenty years.
Having retired early, her time is now fully devoted to her art, which has, in the last few years, evolved from polished figurative landscapes in pastel and acrylic, to more atmospheric pieces. Colour and texture play an essential part in the painting of imagined landscapes or places visited.
Her love of texture stems from her interest in textiles that she has practised ever since her grandmothers taught her how to knit and crochet. Over the last few years, she has made wearable accessories and rag-rug wall-hangings for exhibitions and galleries. More recently, she started making Nuno felt scarves on silk, which are proving quite popular.
A self-taught artist, Dominique finds it important to network with other artists. She belongs to various local art groups and works on the committee for the South East Open Studios.

Weald of Kent Art Group exhibitions: end August and end November, Tenterden Town Hall.
