Water from a bottle, mixed media 67 x 97cm

2D work in 3D, a fusion of mixed media, colour, energy, quirky humour with everyday discarded waste "nothing is worthless or taken for granted".

I am amazed at just how easy it is to amass artwork materials, if we think “out of the box”.  I enjoy life and have a great sense of humour and yet my work deals with the heavier side of life.  The side we all try to avoid – it’s all just too much!

My art takes as its main theme a notion of what might be termed “the value of things”.  My paintings and sculptures use traditional and non-traditional media to show my profound concern with society’s obsession with commercialism and the effect that this has on our lives and relationships.  Grounded in my skepticism about the way that we live our lives in the ever-present shadow of market forces, I make funny, intriguing, and poignant statements that have the power to both amuse and provoke.  Too often we take things, people, responsibilities, even life for granted.  I aim to get your attention and challenge your comfortable perceptions.

My influences have been many and varied, with one thing in common – passion.  Take music - The Clash to The Guerrillas, Ella Fitzgerald to Duffy. Or environmental - our need to fund our armed forces to respecting the work of the World Wildlife fund.  Design - Paul Rand, Swiss typography to John Hoyland and Anish Kapoor.  Everyone can relate to my love/hate relationship with Dr Who or James Bond or even the joy of owning a puppy or rabbit.  To date my life has been a journey through Art College, as a graphic designer producing information and corporate design in The City, travelling, living abroad, motherhood, divorce and the joys with the challenges of bring children up.  All this has shaped me to re-emerge as I am today.

I exhibit in the southeast counties and London in pop up galleries, art fairs and in collective shows.
