Handcrafted silver and enamel jewellery reflects the delicacy and beauty in nature. Also fine etchings and drawings. Commissions taken.
As a keen gardener I find that flowers and leaves form a large part of my inspiration, sometimes taking several years to develop into the finished piece while waiting for a tool or technique to get it just right. I get excited about new methods of working and continuously develop my work in different directions.
We wear jewellery to make us feel special; I like to design jewellery that makes me feel feminine, resulting in delicate yet hardwearing pieces. I work in sterling silver, changing the surface texture and using semi precious stones to highlight the effects. Enamels give me the opportunity to delve into the world of colour.
Drawing is a natural progression from designing; here birds and insects predominate and are then developed into fine line etchings with a traditional yet contemporary feel.
I look forward to South East Open Studios: the majority of my work is sold through shops and galleries so it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet people and share some of the knowledge I have accumulated over the years. It’s great to see familiar faces and being in a studio with 2 other artists is like a special holiday: inspirations flows and I find I can’t work fast enough!
