Artists across the South East are flinging open their studio doors and welcoming the public in.

South East Open Studios is in its ninth year and has 290 artists in Kent and East Sussex taking part.

Visitors are able to look around the studios and see works in progress in a less formal environment than a gallery.

Eight artists across Ashford are taking part and will be open to visitors at different times throughout the scheme.

A guide book to studios involved – South East Open Studios 2005 – is available free at libraries and visitor centre from Wednesday June 1. The open studios event runs from June 10 to June 26.
