Photographer Liz Garnett has been working hard over the years to promote the skill as an art form and see more photography hung on the walls of people's homes.
She said: "I think people see photography as expensive and opt for cheaper options like photographic posters as opposed to buying the real thing.
"One thing I am trying to get across about buying photography, particularly direct from the photographer, is that you are buying a work of art and most photographers sell limited editions. This means that you won't find these pictures in every house you visit."
Liz is taking part in South East Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday, and on June 18 and 19 and 25 and 26, from 10am to 5pm, and looks forward to meeting people to discuss her work.
"If someone comes to my studio and is looking for something specific I am happy to offer solutions, be it a commission or recommending another photographer or even an artist," she said.
This year Liz has reproduced some more flower portraits following on from her series last year. New for this year is the option to choose the way in which a picture is displayed.
Liz added: "I have always preferred to display photography behind glass, but this year I have been experimenting with having my work printed onto canvas and then stretched. Clients also have the option to choose a size that suits the hanging space."
Liz also sells a range of coasters to complement the pictures. This year she has launched a limited-edition mug and has a range of interior decorating ideas.
Liz's studio is at 6 Mountbatten Way, Brabourne Lees, just outside Ashford.
