Picture Queen Liz puts her artwork on display

Ashford Adscene

PHOTOGRAPHER Liz Garnett will be taking part in the South East Open Studios event over the next few weekends.

Liz hopes to raise the profile of photography as an art form, and only prints limited editions of her pictures to give them exclusivity.

Liz said: "I think people see photography as expensive and opt for cheaper options like photographic posters as opposed to buying the real thing.

"One thing I am trying to get across about buying photography, particularly direct from the photographer, is that you are buying a work of art and most photographers sell limited editions.

"This means that you won't find these pictures in every house you visit."

Liz will be taking part in the open studios event this weekend from 10am to 5pm.

Liz said she is looking forward to meeting people and discussing her work. She said: "If someone comes into my studio and is looking for something specific I am happy to offer solutions."

Liz's work includes flower portraits, and she also sells coasters to compliment the pictures and has recently launched a limited edition mug.

Liz's studio is at 6 Mountbatten Way, Brabourne Lees.
