Now in her second year of exhibiting, the SEOS committees guide editor Franny Swann has been selling her work successfully for the past five years.
Ms Swann, of High Street Farningham, said: “Joining was a really good move – Ive met lots of artists from the area.
“It’s a very good networking experience, especially as you can be very isolated as an artist.�
At the moment, Ms Swann is concentrating her efforts on political art and will be displaying a collection of work that focuses on the situation of the “Ghost prisoners� being held by the Americans in Guantanamo Bay.
“She added: “There is room in this organisation for all sorts of people and all sorts of art.
“We would welcome more artists in the area.�
The painter and printmaker, who also works with plaster and glass, has found the open studios experience really positive.
“It costs £85 a year to join the group but you get your name on the website and an area coordinator so its very good to network with people.
“I would recommend it to anybody interested.�
