Participating for the third year, Michael Kennedy is an artist inspired by the surrounding landscape.

The painter and printmaker, of Knights Croft, New Ash Green, pictured, who usually does still life drawings and pictures with a sense of place, wanted to raise his profile and so turned to the open studios event.

“I knew the scheme was running but I waited until the time was right to join.

“The important thing about SEOS is the publicity, since taking part I have been approached by two galleries.�

Planning to display 17 pieces of work, Mr Kennedy added: I have tidied the studio as much as I can but the Victorian printing press is still in the middle of the room; everyone will just have to walk around it.�
