FIVE local artists from Etchingham and Hurst Green are taking part in this year's South East Open Studios event.

Ella Clarke, is based at London Road, Hurst Green, and produces detailed pencil drawings and limited edition prints and cards, specialising in birds, flowers, butterflies, local scenes and owls. She has her studio open 10am to 5pm on June 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. On Friday, June 20, the studio will also be open 6pm to 8pm.

John Hacker is at Fishers Farm Cottages, Fontridge Lane, Etchingham, working in watercolour and mixed media. The studio is open 10am to 5pm on the same days as Ella.

Alice Robson can be found at Ockham, Silver Hill, Hurst Green, producing simple, stylish silver and gold handmade jewellery, open 10am to 9pm today (Friday), and 10am to 4pm June 14, 15 and 21.

Cheryl Smith is located at Willow House, Oxenbridge Lane, Etchingham, making unique and personalised gifts, hand painted ceramics painted to order and unique textured canvases and name canvases. Opening June 13, 14, 15 21 and 22 with demonstrations on the first three days.

Jo Smith is at the Old Cottage, High Street, Etchingham, making life-like mixed media sculpture, inspired by the natural world, opening 10am to 5pm, June 13, 14 and 15 with demonstrations.
