A reception was held recently at Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery to celebrate the launch of Box of Delights, an exhibition showcasing the work of around 20 artists and craftspeople – where everything is for sale. This is the sixth year that the Museum has held Box of Delights.

"We invited a range of talented and original artists to exhibit their work, while others applied direct to us," said Abbi Lock, museum support officer (collections).
"We have selected artists working in a range of different media and are delighted with how the exhibition looks. Quite simply, we wanted to celebrate local talent."

In 2007 Box of Delights welcomed 7,000 visitors and this year the exhibition is open every day until December 23. "We'd urge visitors to keep coming back," said Abbi. "Because everything is for sale, what's on display will change over the two months."
Among those exhibiting are artists Karine Hyde and Jane Beecham, photographer Janet Penny and jewellery makers Amanda Zoe and Yvonne Freeborn.

There are also ceramics on display from artists including Myra Wishart, Katie Brinsley and Susan Neal.
It is the second year that silversmith Louisa Crispin has exhibited at Box of Delights. "It's a great way of raising the profile of my work and also getting it out to a new audience,” she explained, adding that she had already sold some items on preview night.
There are also artists' demonstrations being held every Saturday.
