    Artists' Workshops

I'm arranging some workshops for BTCV and their Kent Heritage Trees creative programme and the theme for this year is the Four Seasons. The workshops have a season as an influence and a medium to work with, other than that it is quite open to interpretation. The actual dates are negotiable as well as the venues to an extent, although we have been trying to cover the county as much as possible as it is a Kent wide project. Places not having had a workshop held so far are Medway, Gravesham, Tonbridge and Deal. We have been using Adult Ed sites - venues would be booked for you.

    The workshops are:

Autumn, pastels, 1 day workshop, xx Sept, venue tbc
Autumn, acrylics and mixed media, ½ day workshop, xx Sept, venue tbc
Winter, Xmas cards using collage and pastels, ½ day xx Oct, venue tbc
Winter, inks and collage, 1 day, xx Nov venue tbc

artist fees are all inclusive, day fee is £250, ½ day is £125
there is a materials budget of £80 and you can ask participants to bring things with them if you need them to

    1 day workshops run 9:30 - 4:30 and half days either am or pm, 9:30 - 12:45 or 1:00 - 4:15

If you would like to apply to lead one of these workshops, please email a short proposal and CV to - hello@cathystreeter.co.uk

Deadline for applications 30 January 2012

Web Design the Easy Way at The Cube, Folkstone

    26/01/2012 - 08/03/2012 on a Thursday 14:00 - 17:00

Would you like to learn how to create your own website to sell your work?

This 6 week course approaches website design in a user friendly way using Joomla as the basis for site development and maintenance. Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone. You will learn how to install and configure Joomla, use it to create a website, update and maintain it and add additional 'plugin' functionality such as galleries, e-commerce etc. There will be a minimum of coding and scripting as all building and maintenance functions are undertaken on-line using Joomla's own individual website 'administrator' login.

    The Folkestone Macmillan Artshow 2012

I intend to host an art exhibition for Macmillan Cancer Support at the much sought after Georges House Gallery, Folkestone from Thursday 16th to Wednesday 29th February 2012.

Regrettably, I am not an artist and have no work of my own to sell. I'm looking for the generous 'donation' of a contemporary work, preferably on canvas, that can ideally sell at a premium (with at least 50% of sales going to charity/the rest goes to the artist).

If you'd like to get involved please email me at tomlanglands@elevationsales.co.uk or vist the dedicated facebook page - The (Folkestone) Macmillan Art Show 2012.
