Biography
I’m a mature student studying for an MA in fine art at City & Guilds London Art School. This is a two year part time course based at Kennington, South London. I previously studied fine art at City Lit in Covent Garden, London. This was a three year part time course (City Lit Fine Art). I left the course to commence an MA after completing 2 years of this course. In my second year at City Lit I chose ‘altered realities’ as the major focus for my art practice. I am particularly interested in exploring how representational beginnings can be altered or refined. This is sometimes to strengthen what I wish to convey and at other times it is to reveal less, to allow the viewer space to create their own narrative. As I progress through year 1 of the MA, my art practice continues to explore altered realities but with a greater focus on the moving figure. I am presently undertaking research into contemporary dance with a particular interest in Rambert, London Contemporary Dance theatre and Lindsay Kemp. I am indebted to the access granted by Rambert to their extensive archive. My art practice ranges across photography, digital imagery, printmaking, painting, drawing and sculpture.
