Biography
A Regenerating Textile Artist….. I trained as a Dressmaking and Textiles Teacher, but my passion from my art college days has always been chunky, possibly Three Dimensional Textile weavings, incorporating a mix of mediums. Maybe wood or metal or anything that complimented. Rarely functional, but with a visual and “touchy feely” invitation. Recently experiments with eco dyeing and vegetable dyeing have been embellished with machine embroidery, which allows a much finer approach to my work. Currently I am taking part in a project exploring regenerative principals by Growing Slow Textiles. Growing, processing, spinning and dyeing flax. Also, growing Woad and Japanese Indigo dye plants, taking the process right through from raw materials to hopefully a finished woven piece.
I will be demonstrating throughout our Studio Opening times. I am able to offer “0ne to 0ne” Spinning taster sessions, that just may get you hooked onto a new hobby!! during the summer months May – September. Please contact me for further information.
