Biography
Louise Pettifer lives and works in Kent. She studied at UCA Farnham (2001) for her BA in Textiles and later completed an MA in Drawing from Camberwell, University of the Arts London (2007). Her paintings and drawings are delicate, layered works, with a primary focus on exploring the interconnectedness of nature.
Notable projects include residencies at institutions such as the National Trust’s Sissinghurst Castle Garden in 2014-2015 and more recently, at The Lossenham Project in 2023-2024. In 2019 she was awarded Arts Council DYCP funding to spend a year developing a new body of work around the concept of rewilding.
Recent / current exhibitions include ‘Works on Paper 7’ at Blue Shop Galleries, London, ‘If Heaven Falls’ at Lido Stores, Margate, ‘For the Wild’ at Intra Arts, Rochester and ‘Margins’ curated by Matthew Burrows at Rye Creative Centre.
