Biography
I began my work life as an investment banker finding myself in New York on September 11th 2001. My morning meeting in one of the twin towers had been cancelled the night before. I decided that day to pursue what I really loved so I left banking and took a 2 year course in design with City & Guilds. I opened a design studio for commercial and residential interiors and would buy or make art for different schemes. I am mostly self-taught but did attend a few art courses in different mediums over the following 5 years. I began running art workshops from my studio in South East London and moved to East Sussex 4 years ago, recently opening another studio here. I will be teaching workshops in different mediums, mostly drawing and painting. I will also be inviting other artists to teach at the studio, lecturers on different art-related subjects and organise the odd outing and lunches. The main theme of Coopersfield Studio is to have fun, enjoy the process of making, learn new skills and of course to meet other creatives. All abilities very welcome.
