Biography
My studio is a place of colour, energy, and curiosity, and opening it for South East Open Studios feels like an extension of that spirit. I paint to create joy – bold, uplifting works that celebrate colour, pattern, and the simple pleasure of the everyday.
Much of my work begins with everyday subjects: flowers, fruit, playful arrangements, and patterns that catch my eye. Through acrylic paint, I exaggerate colour and rhythm, allowing intuition to lead the process. Some paintings are larger and immersive, while others are smaller, more spontaneous pieces where I experiment with pattern, repetition, and colour combinations that really pop.
Painting is my way of responding to the world — a balance of structure and freedom, perhaps influenced by my background in architecture, but always driven by feeling. I love how colour can shift a mood, lift the spirit, and invite conversation. Many of these works have been created in the flow of family life, music playing, doors open, and ideas evolving organically.
I hope visitors leave my studio feeling energised, uplifted, and inspired — whether that’s by a painting that makes them smile, sparks a memory, or simply brings a little more colour into their day.
