Biography
Valeriia is a Ukrainian-born artist based in Tunbridge Wells. She moved to the UK in 2003, where her creative path really began to take shape. She studied at London University of the Arts, London College of Fashion and Kensington and Chelsea College, developing her own intuitive and expressive style.
Her work has been recognised through awards such as the Batsford Prize and the Waste Off Challenge with St. Joseph’s Hospice, and featured in publications including Grazia and Voix Meets Mode.
Valeriia now runs Kostina Art Studio in Tunbridge Wells, where she shares her love for art through relaxed, welcoming workshops. Alongside alcohol ink, she also teaches painting, textile design and pattern cutting. She also hosts regular Creative Space sessions, informal, friendly meet-ups for anyone who wants to make, explore ideas, or simply spend time being creative.
Her current collection ‘Earthly Tapestry’ is inspired by nature. Its textures, colours and ever-changing moods. She works with alcohol ink and mixed media to create pieces that are fluid, vibrant and impossible to replicate. Each painting is completely one of a kind, with no prints, just original work.
