Ceramic Works 25-26
Currently developing a new body of ceramic work exploring the relationship between wood and clay through texture transfer and form.

Through Clayfolk, I run a year-round programme of ceramics courses and workshops in Folkestone, supporting accessible, skills-based clay education and community making.

Courses and studio opportunities are updated regularly at www.clayfolk.uk.

Biography

I am a ceramic artist and educator based in Folkestone. I began working in ceramics in recent years following a background in woodturning and bespoke woodwork, bringing a strong understanding of material process and form to my clay practice.

I am currently exploring a range of ceramic directions, including the use of wood-turned formers to transfer wood grain and surface textures onto ceramic pieces. This crossover between timber and clay reflects an ongoing interest in material dialogue, imprint, and process.

Alongside my studio practice, I am the founder of Clayfolk, a community ceramics studio offering courses, workshops, studio membership, and private tuition. I also work within the Design and Technology department at St Lawrence College, specialising in practical skills development and CAD/CAM technologies.
