30th ANNIVERSARY OF SEOS, A RETROSPECTIVE

Except for 3-4 years I have taken part in Open Studios each year since  1998, the year after SEOS started. For this anniversary year I shall be displaying works from many of those years,  as well as a number of recent paintings. This “Retrospective” will include early architectural watercolours of  Venice,  lively mixed media cityscapes, the Thames at night in acrylic, through to recent developments in oils  developing impasto style using palette knives, shifting towards landscapes and coastal scenery. I hope to show something of how my work has evolved over that time, growing and developing both through changing subject matter and use of materials.

SALE OF PRINTS AND ORIGINALS.

I’m pleased to announce that I shall be displaying a number of works during my Open Studio at sale prices, including some real bargains.

CHELSEA ARTS SOCIETY

Between 16th – 21st June I’m thrilled to be showing 4 paintings in the prestigious Chelsea Arts Society at the wonderful Chelsea Old Town Hall in Kings Rd. This is a highly selective exhibition including works by the many distinctive members and works selected from a huge submission of artists from both UK and abroad.

Biography

I am a landscape painter working mainly in oils and have become fascinated with the interaction of light, land, water and sky. This has led me to explore marine-scapes, rivers and city skylines as well as a wealth of scenery closer to my home in Tonbridge or on travels throughout the UK. I love the possibilities of mark making that come through manipulating paint, often using palette knives, pushing the abstract qualities that are inherent in the image.

I am an Associate Member of Royal Society of Marine Painters,  a member of Chelsea Art Society and The Pilgrims Way Artists and show in numerous Art Fairs and galleries.
