Biography
Rebecca Ritchie is a contemporary British still life painter whose work draws on the rich tradition of Dutch Masters painting. Working from her studio in Tunbridge Wells, she creates luminous, carefully composed works that celebrate the quiet beauty of everyday objects rendered in dramatic light.
Trained at Maidstone School of Art, Rebecca brings a highly developed visual intelligence to her practice, shaped in part by her years as Head of Set Design at QVC London, where she developed an acute understanding of how light and composition create atmosphere and narrative.
Her paintings are held in private collections and she exhibits regularly at some of the UK’s most respected open exhibitions, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition, the Chelsea Art Society, and the ING Discerning Eye. In 2026, two works,Paper Curse and Witness were shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Rebecca’s still lifes are characterised by their stillness and depth, paintings that reward slow looking, and that find something quietly extraordinary in the familiar.
