Biography
Coming from a background as a Graphic Designer, I ventured into painting after illness cut short my career. In my garden studio I work mainly with water media depicting different aspects of the natural world which I am passionate about. I paint landscapes, plants, flowers, insects, birds, and still life. I enjoy walking (picking up items to paint whilst on my journeys), and sketching my environment to work with later in my studio. I like to experiment with new materials, and often take a break from painting to work on prints. Painting in watercolour is challenging, as it’s hard to tame, but it’s transparent qualities are so beautiful that I find it to be my most favoured medium, using it alongside gouache, acrylic, crayons and inks.
