Viv Kilby Wild Roots Textile Art Nature inspired textile art –
I breathe new life into preloved fabrics, stitching natures beauty through
free motion and hand embroidery, creating one off pieces, fine art Giclee prints and greetings cards.
Over the past 15 years, my self taught journey has transformed my passion for nature into a skilled art
form, allowing me to express my creativity through the medium of fabric and thread. Utilising nature
to also print on fabrics and paper gives a unique organic touch to my work, hopefully capturing the
beauty of the natural world. The combination of these elements allows for a creative and sustainable
approach to my textile art, where each piece tells a story of renewal and connection with the nature
around me.
Working in a stunning part of the Sussex countryside undoubtedly influences and infuses my work, and at
weekends my coastal location enriches my inspirations, allowing me to translate the tranquility and allure
of the coast into my creations, this balance between different locations undoubtedly, real depth
and authenticity to my work.
